Ireland 2019
In August of 2019, Donna and I took a wonderous trip to Ireland. We stayed in Clonmel, County Tipperary, at a marvelous Hotel owned by our dear friends, Jon Nallen and Liz Bowen), the Hotel Minella. What a splendid time it was...

The Point of the to explore them.
2018: This day was an adventure with lots of hiking. The sun here made for some amazing photography with the light changing dramatically from an early morning grey tint when I arrived, to a golden sheen in the late afternoon. Those are California Condors in the image of the birds circling the rocky spires. A very lucky day indeed! The image of me shows how far I have to time. 2019: It was 23 degrees when I arrived this morning. The sun eventually warmed things up but since I came to the west side this time, it wasn't until 930am that the sun peeked over the ridgeline. BRRRRRR! Another great day for image making. No condors this time.
1st batch: Nikon F5 35mm Film Camera/2nd batch: Nikon D850 DSLR - I used the AF-S Nikkor 28-300mm 1:3.5-5.6 G VR Lens for both sessions.

Devil's Slide
The Devil's Slide area on the Pacific Coast Highway, south of San Francisco, is famous for falling into the sea. Tunnels were built bypassing the area after the last slide a few years ago. Waves like these might be the reason... Now the area is a Photo Haven...especially after a stormy day on the coast.

Jenner by the Sea
A trip I didn't plan to take turned into a colorful expose. The smokey skies turned an otherwise so-so day at the coast into a spectacle.

Point Reyes Sunset and Milky Way
I finally made it to one of California's more dramatic landscapes. I was not disappointed. WOW! The wind, the however...the wind was killer. 50mph gusts were blowing me around like a windsock. YIKES

Yosemite's Call
There is no more alluring place on earth than Yosemite in Spring. Closing my eyes I see a slideshow of the falls, the Merced, the meadows, the reflections, the trees, the animals and the impossible granite heights.

I love Ireland
I traveled to Ireland several times from 2007 to 2011. That's me in Dublin for Saint Patrick's Day. I can't wait to go back.
These were taken with Panasonic Lumix point and shoot camera.
Nature's last art
Admittedly I have a fascination with deadwood. I see an earthy flow in the last meanderings of each of these natural creations standing or fallen. Even if not exactly artful itself, a piece's placement within nature sometimes carries the day for me and I have to capture it before it changes. I see serenity in the graceful smooth decay of those lying at the edge of a meadow, chaos in the rich textured bark of recent fall and a fearful remorse in those burnt husks on the edge of the last wildfire. I am touched by their ability to touch me.
These were all taken with my Nikon F5 35mm Film Camera.
