The News dilemma

You know,  I usually spend the first two hours of my day on the porch, with coffee. The local news is on my tablet, and I’m scrolling five other news sources, left, right, and middle fiddle.
More and more, this is becoming a futile exercise. My hope is always to be able to filter out the BS by comparison and end up with the facts. What I’ve found is that they all favor one viewpoint or another. Even the ones that claim to be non-partisan lean a little. If you find one that’s neither X nor Y, its content is lacking.
I’ve been experimenting with having Grok prepare an “unbiased, facts only, morning news report.” At first, I let it pick its own sources, with references, but decided that might be too permissive and picked some for it. The results weren’t significantly different.
After reading one, I thought, ‘How do I know it isn’t still cherry picking?”
I don’t have an answer to that yet. I can’t come up with a plan that would assure me an unbiased report.  🤔 sigh!

I think I’ll just go shoot something.
