This was one of those road trips I live for lately. It started with high hopes, but this was at the end of the fire season in 2018, and the smoke was horrific. Combine that with California's harsh midday sun, and I had nothing but glare and haze. I couldn't make sense of the histogram no matter what I did, and nothing looked good.
By the end of the day, though, the sunset turned everything rosy, and hope was restored. By the time I got to the River's End in Jenner, the images were looking magical. Once I got home and applied some Photoshop magic, I recovered almost 50 images to printable form.
