TOP STORY: US–IRAN NEGOTIATIONS EDGE FORWARD
U.S. and Iranian officials are working on a potential agreement that would limit Iran’s nuclear program and ease some sanctions, but no final deal has been signed yet. President Trump has said the talks are in “final stages,” while diplomats stress that enforcement and timelines are still being negotiated.usnews
Reports describe a framework in which Iran would give up or dilute highly enriched uranium in exchange for phased sanctions relief. Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and the global oil market are watching closely, since any deal could reduce the risk of supply disruptions and sudden price spikes.usnews
Markets and allies are treating this as a live diplomatic process rather than a finished peace. Both sides face domestic political pressure, and any misstep could send oil prices higher and unsettle broader markets.usnews

Higher yields earlier in the week tested Washington’s tolerance for rising borrowing costs, with the 10-year Treasury reaching about 4.69% before easing back near 4.58%. Analysts note that persistent inflation pressures and uncertainty over the Federal Reserve’s next moves are keeping bond markets on edge.investopedia+1
Oil markets have been supported by supply concerns and the ongoing risk around Iran, though recent reports suggest Brent near 104 dollars with slight day-to-day declines as traders price in possible progress in talks. My thoughts about today’s Popi’s UnSpun News 24May26 – There is a lot of motion in the background today: talks in the Gulf, record-level markets, and holiday gas lines that hit the wallet. The numbers are real and the pressure is real, but so is the chance to keep perspective and stay ready.
That’s your Unspun News Report for Sunday, May 24, 2026.
Still looking for the good news. Families are hitting the road, and for now they are doing it under clear skies instead of sirens. That counts.
A Little Perspective: Even when the world feels a bit smoky, the “good news” is often found in the people who show up – the volunteers at hospitals, the scientists in labs, and the neighbors helping neighbors.
As always – be well, be alert, be informed. Popi sends…
NOTE from Popi: I’ve tried to automate this and the Good News report using Perplexity & Gemini. To fully automate on Perplexity, the “Computer” model has to be incorporated. That costs $ in the form of credits. I burned through $100 building the first unedited versions of my two reports. In fact I ran out of credits as I finished creating the second. That was the first day I tried and I never got to test either one. I got 4000 free credits to try it, then bought 10000 more. Still wasn’t enough to do anything with my creations. I needed more credits to run them every day. There are no more free bees after that initial 4000 credits.😋
This old cowpoke can’t afford it. Once I figured out the credit scheme, I haven’t investigated Gemini Pro to automate over there. It’s probably the same deal. I bought the cheapest Perplexity plan there was because of how insanely good it is rsearching anything it can find on the web – in fekking light speed. I’m using Gemini’s free version (Pro version costs more than my Perplexity subscription – don’t know for sure about credits with Gemini). Both are really good assistants, but the finishing touches end up in my lap. Unless I pay for the priviledge of having an AI do it all for me. At that point I’d more or less be the gatekeeper and that’s all. Not much creation involved. MEH! I like the mechanical part of being sure it’s right and doesn’t sneak in some left-or-right leaning BS.
Now, keeping either one of them on target is, so far, another 🤫matter🫣.
