18Jun-Photo Release – For a few years now there have been rumors of Wood Ducks on this west end of Del Valle along the arroyo itself. Well on the west end of Del Valle, beyond the damn, it’s dang near a jungle. The area is overgrown beyond approaching – probably with intention. The west end of DelValle abuts the east end of Sycamore Grove, and its in the crossover area of the two where the Wood Ducks have been seen.

There are River Otters in there and if the approach was clear, there would be no end of nosy tourists pushing those animals around in their own habitat until they left. I’ve been going here since we came to Livermore and I’ve only seen an otter once. I just happened to have the camera ready. We came out of a very occluded path along the riverside, and the otter was right there under the foot bridge back to the car park. He was there and gone in seconds. I got two shots semi clear and a half dozen blurs.

Sycamore Grove – April 6, 2021

18Jun-Photo Release – Another special place here in Livermore. I don’t go here much because the dogs have to be on leash. I have gone without them with the intention of making some planned captures. Sycamore Grove has an abundance of flora and fauna to see, so I couldn’t stay away forever, and it took several trips to make those captures (I ain’t done yet either, dang it). We are lucky to have so many places where nature rules and I love it. One needs tons of patience in this game. There are days when I do have – a little. Then there are days when I don’t – at all. There’s more of the latter sadly.
