15Jul-2nd-Photo Release – this hike is much harder than the other side of the park. I take breaks on the way up. The girls love it over there, except for the last couple hundred yards which has no cover and my girls love shade. Water is an essential on this hike.

The terrain varies from sort of flat and open, to steep and open, or twisting through the trees with occasionally steep slopes, but lots of shade and wicked views, there’s deadwood and usually lots of birds. I didn’t see anything but vultures this day. We have to cross the arroyo first which is pretty wild looking once it gets overgrown. That’s in where the otters live. There’s those green, green hills. The white building in a couple of the frames is the VA I go to. The golf course is the lower half of Wente’s championship course. Of course the lake is DelValle – I’m on the dam end. Two crazy youngsters climbing Cresta Blanca. I’ve threatened to do the same with my drone in tow for years now. Sigh!
