06Aug-Xtra-Photo Release – I’ve always threatened to do this. This is the first time I’ve actually dug up the relevant photos for the project. They aren’t as good as I’d like, but definitely serve the purpose.

Have you ever done a photo-shoot one day, and then several days later you happen to be doing another shoot exactly opposite where you were for the first shoot and it’s a really far distance, yet you can see it? Well, it was a little more than a few days later (2021 – 2026), but I saw it when reviewing a recent release and I said to myself, ‘Hey. That’s Hawk Hill over there. And that’s Point Bonita over there. And behind that massive fog bank over there might be Point Reyes.’ That’s when I decided this would be a worthy project – i.e. it kept me busy for several hours. 🫣🤫
One interesting thing is the distances – between four and five miles across the mouth of the bay, outside the gate. I walked a long way from the Sutro Baths to the Mile Rock overlook. The walk back was a slow crawl. I hiked even more than that at Hawk Hill – only to find out I couldn’t get to where I wanted to be walking, unless I turned into a goat. I haven’t been able to morph since the 70s though. Of course, back in 2021 hiking was a breeze, but vertical rock walls tend to deter one form continuing forward…erm up.
